Conscious Brand: Jasper Oils, A Self Love Treat For Your Body Temple

Photos By: Monique Grobler. While a large portion of my written content revolves around self-care tools, tips you can use to expand your consciousness, and how you can improve your mindfulness and emotional intelligence to manifest what you want in life, it's also important to make time to honor our body temple as part of our self-love practice. Bringing our attention and nurturing to our beloved body, the vehicle that houses and carries our soul in this life, is equally as important. Self-love practices not only involve treating ourselves with honor, love and respect, and feeding our beings with nutritious clean food, but can also include taking the time to apply care and appreciation this fleshy structure that enables us to do so much in this world by treating it to something nutritious and delicious on the outside too. Vibey Body Oils Imagine my delight when I found body oils that have quantum physics as part of their creation toolkit! I just had to share

Surrendering To The Feminine: The Process.

There's this thing that happens with me, and I thought to share it with you in case it's happening with you too. It comes when the summer months begin to cool, and then in reverse when the spring comes and everything starts moving outwards again. You may have experienced it as Seasonal Affective Disorder, winter blues, or any other label that sums up what it looks like moving into your feminine energies of emotion, purging, creativity, and flow . From the expansive warmth of the outward summer experience, the contractive inner abyss of winter's introspective season begins. And it can feel extremely uncomfortable. This process can unfold at anytime throughout your year and is not strictly a winter activity. It comes when you most need it, and can be seasonal, depending on the pace of your life. Deep Spaces My process seems to get louder and more stubborn as I move through life with each cycle. This past outer experience in my masculine energy was as

Conscious Brand: Wear Poly, Swimsuits from Fishing Nets

First up, I love the idea of upcycling and repurposing. Half my living space is furnished with gorgeous items other people have tossed out. To me, there is no 'throwing away' on this planet . Our trash can only be relocated or transformed into something more useful. Just because you can't see it anymore doesn't mean it's disappeared off the planet. I am making it my mission to find brands that share the same values and who contribute to enhancing life and the state of the planet. I would love to raise awareness that we have other choices to invest in where we can have a clear conscience as consumers and still get great product value. I'm scouring the globe for conscious brands to showcase to you.   In the case of Cape Town swimwear brand, Poly , product creators Loren and Tracey, have taken to fabric made from recycled fishing nets sprawled across the bottom of the ocean floor, and transformed them into premium quality reversible swimsuits that have a c

A Morning Practice: Start Your Day Strong

I thought to share with you what my morning mindfulness and manifestation practices are so that if you're looking for a solution for anxiety and a rollercoaster ride every day of your life, you have been pointed in the right direction to help yourself. One of the things I noticed about going on holiday to Zanzibar, in my experience, was that it was more difficult to keep at my morning practice each day. Either because travel disruptions, or lack of privacy, I was not doing my morning practice regularly while away recently. After a week of not doing my morning practice, I could feel fear trying to sneak its way in, and also I noticed that things did not unfold the way I wanted them to. After just two weeks of not living intentionally and deliberately, I felt the effects of not directing how I want to experience my day and life. While you can certainly go with the flow and be spontaneous in some circumstances, in general, choosing what you want for yourself

Freyja Natural: Keeping It Simple For Self-Love Sunday

It was one of those days where I was feeling a little overwhelmed by how noisy and busy the world is. All I wanted was to retreat into the quietness of my own bedroom for some peace and quiet before going to bed early. Then I remembered the package that arrived for me at work that day! Thinking it was a package from my dad, I hadn't opened it straight away, and instead left it in my backpack for after I got home. The first thing that struck me as I opened the couriered box, was that this bed connector my dad sent me smelled incredibly like lavender, which instantly put me in a more relaxed state. Feeling slightly confused as I removed the box stuffing to find a beautiful hessian giftbag, I noticed Freyja Natural's wooden packaging label and suddenly I felt like a kid at Christmas! How perfectly timed! I couldn't wait to open the packaging and see what was inside. I'm a sucker for natural body products, and I've even played around with making my own a few time

Zanzibar: The Expectation Vs The Reality

Generally speaking, I'm a positive and optimistic person . I trust the process of life, and I have an easy time going with the flow. Usually. I wake up and set intentions daily for how my experiences will go, and I am a conscious and deliberate choice maker. Life has a way of throwing curve balls however. My time in Zanzibar did not unfold the way I thought it would and the experience was quite a challenge for me. It's the first time I have travelled since being fully awake and conscious, and due to a number of influencing factors, I compromised my values of intentional and deliberate living to go with the flow and accept what life wanted to show me from my time there. Language barrier, cultural differences, and doing what I thought was best to not respond to the environment like a spoiled, entitled 'western' brat because it was a temporary situation for me, but that is the local's lives permanently. These are just a few aspects that influenced how things
