Conscious Brand: Healing Earth, Clear Conscience All Round

I'm not going to lie, Healing Earth's Lemon Verbena & Argan Oil collection is more-ish in more ways than one. The scent reminds me of lemon meringue pie, which I love but just don't eat anymore because of the amount of sugar used to make it. I'd bounce off the walls, fully wired on a sugar rush if I had to go there. Instead, I now live vicariously through smelling the things I don't eat anymore. I was thrilled to now have lemon meringue 'on tap' to catch a whiff of whenever I want when in the mood for a little sweetness. Enough sugar-coating though. If I'm going to do this product review stuff and be in alignment with my own value system of transparency and authenticity, I'm going to cut the bullshit. I'm going to call a spade a spade and not try and oversell you something with frills that just aren't necessary. I've never been one for frills. I'm more likely to strip the products bare and give you the valuable information ...

Photos By: Monique Grobler. While a large portion of my written content revolves around self-care tools, tips you can use to expand your consciousness, and how you can improve your mindfulness and emotional intelligence to manifest what you want in life, it's also important to make time to honor our body temple as part of our self-love practice. Vibey Body Oils Imagine my delight when I found body oils that have quantum physics as part of their creation toolkit! I just had to share ...

Conscious Brand: Wear Poly, Swimsuits from Fishing Nets

First up, I love the idea of upcycling and repurposing. Half my living space is furnished with gorgeous items other people have tossed out. To me, there is no 'throwing away' on this planet . Our trash can only be relocated or transformed into something more useful. Just because you can't see it anymore doesn't mean it's disappeared off the planet. I am making it my mission to find brands that share the same values and who contribute to enhancing life and the state of the planet. I would love to raise awareness that we have other choices to invest in where we can have a clear conscience as consumers and still get great product value. I'm scouring the globe for conscious brands to showcase to you.   In the case of Cape Town swimwear brand, Poly , product creators Loren and Tracey, have taken to fabric made from recycled fishing nets sprawled across the bottom of the ocean floor, and transformed them into premium quality reversible swimsuits that have a c...

Freyja Natural: Keeping It Simple For Self-Love Sunday

It was one of those days where I was feeling a little overwhelmed by how noisy and busy the world is. All I wanted was to retreat into the quietness of my own bedroom for some peace and quiet before going to bed early. Then I remembered the package that arrived for me at work that day! Thinking it was a package from my dad, I hadn't opened it straight away, and instead left it in my backpack for after I got home. The first thing that struck me as I opened the couriered box, was that this bed connector my dad sent me smelled incredibly like lavender, which instantly put me in a more relaxed state. Feeling slightly confused as I removed the box stuffing to find a beautiful hessian giftbag, I noticed Freyja Natural's wooden packaging label and suddenly I felt like a kid at Christmas! How perfectly timed! I couldn't wait to open the packaging and see what was inside. I'm a sucker for natural body products, and I've even played around with making my own a few time...
